our beginnings
we grew up amidst the salty humidity of the caribbean, used to walking barefoot and jumping in and out of the water.
over the years, as we have travelled, lived and worked around the world, we always seek out water, whether a lake, a pool, ocean or sea. we find ourselves in water.
HANELA grew from our shared desire to design and craft simple, elegant designs that we'd also love to wear.
hana loves to swim, for hours, and hours, and hours. she finds her best ideas and clearest thoughts when swimming back and forth, or along.
working professionally in theatre and film, hana has learnt the importance of ease, of waking up and getting dressed to a feeling of confidence which a simple pair of earrings can provide.
working as an artist across disciplines, hana loves the freedom, independence, collaboration and creativity HANELA allows.

ela
ela loves being on the water in all capacities, whether its sailing, surfing, or researching. this enjoyment of marine sports evolved into a passion for maritime communities and marine ecosystems in which she is now pursuing a career.
working and playing in the marine environment, ela values jewelry tough enough to handle the elements and elegant enough to reflect the beauty of the sea.
